The Dr NOVA CORBIN SERIES
The “Dr Nova Corbin Series” is set in near-future Brisbane. Nova Corbin is an anthropologist specializing in an emerging field of the anthropology of artificial intelligence (Anthro-AI). She studies our evolving cultural understanding of artificial intelligence and its impact on the ways that we, as humans, see ourselves and others. Her work often highlights the biases embedded in artificial intelligence systems and the socio-political consequences of their widespread use.
Dr Corbin is partnered with Detective Inspector Mitchell Gray of the Queensland Police Force to investigate killings that result from human interactions with intelligent machines or biotechnologies. Together, Corbin and Gray navigate dark new depths of murder, unravel conspiracies, and solve cases that would never have been imaginable a generation earlier.
